Sunday Baking - Gooey Chocolate Brownies

Its getting a lot closer to Christmas and that is when I do most of my baking, due to the fact of time and being cosy.
So today I decided to bake chocolate brownies, since my boyfriend has been away in Germany for work I've been needing to find something to do on the weekends, so baking brownies was the perfect idea.

You'll Need:
  • 115g of Plain Chocolate
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 55g of unsalted butter
  • 225g of castor sugar
  • 40g of plain flour
  • 25g of cocoa powder
  • 1tsp of baking powder
  • 1tsp of vanilla extract

So here's how we make the brownies
  1. First Melt the butter and chocolate over a pan of boiling hot water or the microwave
  2. whisk together the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until light and creamy
  3. Sieve the the cocoa powder, plain flour and baking powder and add to the sugar and eggs mixture
  4. Add the melted chocolate mixture
  5. For an xtra add some chopped up white chocolate
  6. pour the mixture into a 9icnh square baking tin
  7. Put in a pre-heated oven at 170c, 160c fan oven or gas mark 4 for 40 - 45 minutes
  8. leave to cool
  9. enjoy :)

Making the Most of Autumn

I've decided to make the most of Autumn with the leaves starting to become crisp and old and the air becoming colder and colder. Today we went on a lovely walk around a place called Rivelin, with a gorgeous river going through woodland it was the perfect romantic stroll I took with my boyfriend and some brilliant photo opportunities.

I just love the open fresh air and exploring hidden treasures we found this beautiful old wheel that was dripping with water was beautiful. Isn't there something about the trees and bushes making you feel away from all the stresses of the world.

The woodland was full of just dropped orange crisp leaves, wonderful mushrooms growing on the logs and beautiful animals (unfortunately the birds were too quick for me to capture so here's a picture of a feather instead)

I've been trying out different techniques with my photography and also testing out the manual mode im starting out so i know there not perfect.

I had such an amazing day exploring woodland and the outdoors, i honestly think we need to get outside more and see these beautiful treasures we have so close to home

The Highlight Trend: My 4 Favourite Highlighters

Highlight is something I only started to wear last year and now it has become a vital part of my make-up routine, The rise of beauty bloggers and youtubers means our beauty routines are getting more and more like the professionals.

Makeup Revolution Ultra-Pro Glow Palette
This palette is literally all you need (unless your a makeup lover like me and need about 20,000 products) but honestly its literally all you need 8 amazing shades that differ in variety. What I love about this palette is you can use them dry or wet for a more intense look. I do have my favourite shade which is the bottom 2nd from the right, but I also sometimes mix shades for a more vibrant look.

Mac Soft and Gentle
This highlight is known for being a favourite, i find this a nice and subtle highlight for days when I don't want to wear too much make-up. One thing i do find with this product is it is very 'dusty' but it does have a velvety texture which makes a subtle radiant glow perfect for less makeup days.

Makeup Revolution baked Highligter in Golden Lights
Another favourite of mine, this creates a vibrant glow it does have a white base but there is 3 different shades so there is a variety for different skin tones. I just find this perfect for my skin tone to create a gorgeous glow.

Sleek Precious Metal's Palette
This palette is so versatile it has three velvet cream shades and one bronzey powder, you also creates very different looks and beautifully intense highlight to create a gorgeous radiant glow. perfect for glam night outs.

Autumn Berry Lips

Here are my top 4 berry lips for Autumn, I love bringing out my berry shades for the colder months and the deeper cloths, i just love experimenting with my makeup and style during autumn and getting a berry lip is one of my main points, who doesn't love a berry lip in the autumn.

Bobbi Brown shade Ruby Shimmer
I love this lipstick for adding a bit of shimmer to my lips its a beautiful ruby red with iridescent light reflecting pink pearls through the lipstick. the light reflecting pearls create a gorgeous finish to your lips, what else i love about Bobbie Brown lipsticks are full of luxurious butters and oils to keep good condition to your lips.

Mac Shade Sin
Sin is a deep, dark blue red perfect for those cold days/nights it is also a matte finish which most of the reds/berry shades are. I love this for deepening up my makeup and also pare it with a very subtle eye as it is quite dark. I do like this shade but i find after its dried on your lips and after a few applications in can become quite flakey.

Topshop Shade Trigger
This was one of my first berry/red shades hence the grubby packaging, back to the days when i use to hold my makeup in makeup bags oops. Anyway back to the lipstick i still to this day love this shade and it really suits my skin tone, it also has no hint or orange or any pink undertones a true deep red shade which i love! This lipstick is also not as drying as some matte lipsticks and stays too!

Mac: Shade Diva
Its a quite intense reddish/burgundy colour again perfect for the autumn/winter i really like this paired with a lip liner to create an intenser look for those nights out in the cold. Again with the mac matte lipsticks i find them quite drying and flakey after a few applications but i think it cant be helped with matte finishes.

Simple Skincare Review

During the Colder months my skin has become more sensitive so I thought I would try the Simple Skincare which is known best for sensitive skin.

I have quite a bit of a collection of simple products so i thought i would test them all out Ranging from cleansers, toners to a variety of moisturisers. I like to change my moisturisers depending on how my skin feels so I normally have a few different types

Purifying Cleansing Lotion
A brilliant smooth cleansing lotion which removes most traces of makeup, this cleanser is full of multi vitamins and active ingredients to help my dry skin keep smooth and soft throughout the colder months. This cleanser is alcohol free, no perfumes or colouring and has no harsh chemicals, with pro-vitamin B5 which is known to actively restore dryness and create nice smooth looking skin.

Soothing Facial Toner
This cool soothing facial toner removes those last traces of make up on my skin, it has many benefits and is vital for radiant healthy skin. It helps to clarify and refresh your skin after cleansing. with many active ingredients it has many benefits for healthy looking skin, Chamile will gently sooth the skin and is the refreshing feeling when applying, witch hazel helps to tone and tighten pores and especially in the winter my pores are horrendous. 100% alcohol free too!

Hydrating Light Moisturiser
A light and smooth moisturiser which keeps skin hydrated for up to 12 hours, full of vital vitamins and nutrients; B5 is known for restoring, softening and smoothing the skin, Vitamin E will moisturise and improve skin condition. Glycerin works to hydrate and nourish your skin and Borage seed oil renews and regenarates skin, all in all creating beautiful hydrated and smooth skin.

Anti-Blemish Moisturiser
I often use this when I've had a breakout due to its spot fighting ingredients; Zinc PCA will absorb excess oils, Chamomile is an anti-irritant and will sooth skin, Corn starch mattifys excess shine and aloe vera again sooths skin and will soften the skin. It also has a natural antibacterial phytosphingosine which helps fight off spots and blemishes. again all 100% alcohol free, no perfumes or colouring and just perfect non harsh spot fighter for sensitive skin.

Illuminating Radiance Cream
For when my skin is dry and I'm missing my summer glow I reach out for this product, it has light reflecting minerals that will reflect light which will create a natural radiant glow it also has SPF 15 to help protect skin from UVA and UVB rays.

A day at the Pumpkin Fields

Ever since I was young I've always wanted to go and pick my own pumpkin but I always thought it was something that was only big in  America, I honestly never knew we had pumpkin fields in the UK and definitely did not think you could go and pick your own pumpkins. When I mentioned to my boyfriend I've always wanted to go pumpkin picking and since hes away for work for 2 weeks at Halloween, he said have a google and we'll go somewhere. I found this Farm which wasn't to far from where we live so off we went to Farmer Copley's and found some amazing pumpkins and had an amazing day Here are some pictures I took.
If you would like to check out Farmer Copleys  the link is below:
http://www.farmercopleys.co.uk/

This is what the fields look like, they have 3 big fields of pumpkins but only two was open to the public today (I'm guessing they've saving some for the busier times) I have never seen so many pumpkins and a wide variety of pumpkins, they are so many different types of pumpkin.

I found the perfect little pumpkin to decorate my room (The one I'm holding in the picture). When you arrive at Farmer Copleys you can take a wheel borrow and go searching for the perfect pumpkins. We ended up with 5 pumpkins 1 large 2 small a red pumpkin and  a baby pumpkin.

Look at the variety of Pumpkins was I being naive for only thinking there is only one type of pumpkin? They also have some white pumpkins and they are the ones that grow really big the worker told me she had just weighed one what was 26KG!

Our Pumpkins <3

Once you have picked your Pumpkins you can go and look round the massive farm shop that's on site. We bought pumpkin loaf, pumpkin cake, pumpkin sausages and some more variety of sausages. They also have Cafe called Moo cafe which sell all homegrown food which is delicious!
